thanks guys. will keep you atf lovers informed.

try your luck, atf's are in season here, but all juvis. might be some coming your way.

You guys get more then juvies? Mane all we get is usually 3-4" tops no one wants to ship larger b/c the shipping risk. so no one gets any in. Or at least that I have seen yet.

WOWWWWWWWWWWWW. that is my dream tank, mad ness. Im hoping to get maybe one gatf, but never dreamed of like ten! BTW, does anyone know where i can get a 12" + Gatf or Armatus for $250? Thanks. And as a reply to reddragons question, you could try that. If I had an Asian arro ($$$$) I wouldn't risk mixing it with fish like gatfs because they are so high strung, even small flickers of movement scare them.. If one accidentally got spooked and hurt my arro, id never forgive myself. However, gatfs are not all bad as they are cracked up to be. Like someone said earlier, theirs got nipped by a red hook. What tank mates are u currently keeping your gatf with? I would suggest other fast moving silvery fish. Ive had succes with golden dorado, atlantic tarpon, distchodus, armatus, odo, pygo piranhas, silver arrows and jardinis. My fav setup was one 18" Gatf, 3 13"golden dorados, 3 12-15" indo pacific tarpon, 1 20" piraiba, and a school of like 10 assorted pygos all about 8" in a 2,000 gallon. It was amazing, but feeding time.....Good luck wit your tank!

ok, they r doing ok and feeding on frozen shrimp. they r a little "darty" but not as bad as i thought so tats good news. both seem to enjoy the company of the masheers i have. the emperor red hook is still king of the ring at this moment.

5 inch tops, most are 3-4, good shipping size. this year i've seen even smaller, 2 inchers LFS grow out to sell. There are larger fish available but these are usually from someone's collection. Large fish usually don't make it like you said.

Hell ther isn't even that many people over here that keep them to begin with let alone grow them out and sell them. I have seen very few over 8" for sale. two within driving distance to me but cost was the main factor in buying them.

these fish can catch at least $100 an inch once they get past 8-10" and more if they are off live and have a straight face.

not many here either but sounds as though supply is better where i am. 10-12 inch ones going for 450USD or so. geographically much denser population/smaller range so all atf end up in one market place and my guess is higher atf keeper per capita.

vitatus look more or less the same with bashed nose cones but gatf don't look right.

my suggestion is to collect some juvis, put them in a big tank with flow, feed the hell out of them with clean nutriant pumped feeders. IMO though benefits have merits, non-live is overated (for atf).

sick tanks !
