Gatf update

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was talking the Gatf. I wasn't sure how well the Dorado would accept an ATF of any sort so I figured I'd test the waters with my least favorite..... lol. Worked well, not so much as even a nip, but I do have some big fish in there to take the focus off the smaller guys.

I'd definitely wait till the divider is out. Dividers and ATF = NO Bueno.

Hopefully there's something to be learned from my mistake - see I travel with means of temp control when I transport fish. I use a van with rear heat/ac, BUT also use ice in the summer and heat packs in the winter. I had to barrow a work van cause the fuel pump took a crap in mine, so all my heat packs were used up by the time we handed the fish off. Guy receiving the fish said he had dropped to 68 degrees by the time he got home so guessing this was the fish's demise. I personally would have stopped and got heat packs, but then again I assumed most people would have done the same, guess I should have stopped and got some for him. :(

Yea I know dividers don't work with armatus so thought a gatf would have same problem...
my question is when I move him to the other tank.... how??! Can't exactly use a rubber net to big of holes.. a regular net would be bad news as the teeth would possibly catch... plus the guy is super fast!! Haven't decided when I move him what the best way to do it
Is??
He is a cool fish hope his personality would get a little better if I moved him... still skittish but better than he was.

Drain most of the tank and it could be easier. And some people use rubber nets for monster fish
