gator vs croc I

i dont see any diff bw crocI and shortnose?

Actually they are different (look at fins and placement of blotches) but that was my point on the Croc 1. The colour is an exaggeration of shortnosed and very similar. This is one of the ways we know the Croc 1 is indeed a Shorty x gator hybrid. A pure gator will not have colouration at all like a shortnosed.

ah yes i see the colour part.

shortys have less patterning on top? both look pretty heavily patterned down the lateral side..fins wise the croc has more spots on the fins and pattern wise looks like a gator, but proportionatly looks like a shorty? the lateral spots on the croc go all the way to the tail but shortys stop at the base? aren't these subjective to individual fish? i'm reading too much into this aren't i.

Your missing the key thing here.... A gator will not have a colour pattern anything like a Shortnosed... Your asking what is the difference in these fish, this is a diagnostic trait along with the obvious head and snout differences.

dont really know much about Croc gars except they exsist and are hybrid.
