General Piranha Question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah

I would start out with 5-6 Ps too. If u want to end up with 4 in a couple years, it's best to have an extra or two. Chances are pretty good that at least one will get killed by tankmates. As said above- more cover will help minimize this. Another problem with starting with the same number you want to eventually keep is that if one dies in a year you will have to pay serious money to get a new one that will match the size of the others. If u get 5 or 6 now and they all live you can trade them in for store credit (assuming your lfs has a trade-in policy) or sell them to somebody. Better to have a couple too many than need to buy a 7 incher in a year or two to round out your foursome.

You could always go find other tanks you like and see whats going on in them that makes them attractive to you. There are a lot of awesome tanks all over this site to make anyone drool over something.

After looking around the site I think ill get fake plants because I don't what them to eat them.
I can get 6 inches for $3, 12 inches for $6 and 24 inches for $9. What is the best length for this because it's going to be plants only.

Good to see some questions never change... Where oh where is Neoplasia to answer this?

Or the search button on this site? I guess repetitive questions make the MFK world go round though.

Aint that the truth.

I would mix up the plant sizes. Plants that are taller than your tank are good because the extra height can just float on top and provide additional cover.
