General Update.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
NO to the racoon. My mom had one for years and it attacked her. My buddy had one for 18 years. One day it just switched on him. Was hand fed by him. Around 5 yo it was crawling on his sholders when it stopped and started growling at him. It attacked him pretty good. After that it no longer liked him the same way.

Get a Ferret, awesome little furballs:

Ferrets are cool but they smell pretty bad and poop all over the place. Skunks are not my thing and every sugar glider that I have had bit the crap outta me. I will keep looking.

I love my little Ferret, he smells Musky but its not Bad, My cat smells worse. I also have him litter boxed trained so no surprises lol

I would get ether a fox or a cat. How much does the breeder sell them for? I had a chance to get a pair of sugargliders recently but my stepmom won't let me get anything. I have always wanted a ferret but I could never get one.

Okay so I was out of commision for a few weeks when my computer decided to give out on me and I had to scramble to afford a new one which is unfortunately putting off the king cobra purchase I had started lining up. I have changed a few things around and redecorated cages so keep an eye out for pictures soon. Redecorating is what got me through 2 weeks without a computer and TV so my beaded lizards cage looks amazing right now.

The Cobras are growing fast and will be ready to move into the 4 foot boamaster cages in a few months time so I am preparing those cages (adding locks and double screening). The caught the eyelash vipers mating but they are no longer together. I am not sure if the female is gravid or not but I had an opportunity to increase my chances of getting some babies (and really awesome ones at that!). Doug Foster was a big player in the herp industry back in the day and he is still keeping a bunch of nice snakes but did not have a male for his eyelash vipers. I offered him mine for a breeding loan and now my male is over at his place breeding with a leucistic eyelash viper among some other goodies like orange, peach, and yellow phases. I know the babies will all most likely be phenotypically normal but who knows, I might get something cool and if not, I will get some nice hets to hold on to for future projects.

I am also having a strange urge to get something with fur since I took home a Kinkajou to babysit for a few days. I do not usually like many mammals but I kind of want something I can pet now. I might get a cat but I am looking into other possibilities right now since you all know how much I like rare or odd pets. Foxes have been one of my interests and I have been able to track down a breeder in the states but I need to clear it with my apartment building first. The lease says no dogs but I think foxes might be pushing it with them since I am already on the fence with my venomous. Who knows, it is just something I am looking into at this point. If you guys have any other suggestions for something social and furry that is at or under the $500 mark, let me know please. I am open to suggestions at this point.

I am also starting a new job as an animal trapper next week and I will be licensed to catch all sorts of goodies like gators and nutria and other typical nuisance wildlife. It sounds like it will be fun and it pays well. I will post pics of anything interesting.

Also in the works right now is a business plan for a pet store. I am not going to give out too many details because it is just in the beginning phases but I have gotten some money together and a few people that are interested in opening one up with me. I certainly have the contacts and knowledge so we will see where this goes.

Okay, sorry for the essay I just have insomnia and wanted to catch you all up since I have had a lot happen while I was out of touch.
Can't wait for the new cage pics!

Pics of the cobras are now required.;) Good luck with the viper breeding, hope she turns out to be gravid!

Hmm, you want a cat or something unusual? Easy, get the best of both worlds, an Ocelot would be freaking awesome!:D:headbang2 Plus since I want one someday, I could get a picture of what would be involved owning one.;)

If you catch a big burm and it gets euthanized, can I have the skull???:naughty:

Cheers with the pet store idea, be sure to sell lots of the more unusual species!

Gotta love having insomnia, huh?:irked:

what about a savannah or bengal cat
a fox would be cool too
what about a fruit bat?

For a cool furry pet I would go with a patagonian cavy but it will probably cost a bit more than $500. Also coatimundis are another one on my wish list and they run around the $500 market I believe. I would have both of these if I had the room and money.
