I agree with you. I've never been one to mix fish but my wife really likes rainbows and denison barbs. I'm considering that too.

If you end up mixing, I definitely recommend the roseline sharks. Their colors are worth every penny, and they have the shoaling, speeding back and forth, plus streamlined shape you want.

I'm with you on that. I had 5 when this was a planted tank many years ago and they really pop and are most always in motion. Does anyone know a good source for them online? I couldn't find them earlier.

I'm a fan too. I have breeding liberifer in another tank. I debated on doing severums but think I'm gonna do something that will school up.
On another side note do you think corys would work too? The sveni are pretty big. I'd say every bit of 6-7" without streamers.
I'll leave others to decide on the discus matter, but I advise against those. If any of the eartheaters eats them, you could lose both fish.
