Hi Matt - my female did it before too. Sometimes she just gave up and spit out the eggs. Sometimes she probably swallowed them. I'm pretty excited that they at least got it right this time
They are immediate mouth brooders and I didn't catch them in action this time, but I first noticed that the female was holding early in the week of 10/3 (probably Monday or Tuesday). I thought she was going to mess it up one way or the other, so I didn't pay much attention until 10/13 when I saw the fry. Not exactly sure how long but probably around 10 days.
I've stripped other mouth brooders too early before and ended up with wigglers. They were not hard to grow though - just a small tank and an air store.
