can anyone sex mine.. never thought about sexing them before but now that they are almost 5 inches..i think its time i find out
Liz, I can't sex them but I can tell you they're not alti's. They're Satanoperca leucosticta. Very beautiful too.
Leucosticta males and females look generally the same and are very difficult to impossible to sex based on looks.

Thank you very much, i always thought they were.. Sananopercia Leucosticta but now i know for sure..just because they have all the color pearls etc on their cheeks but i knew nothing about sexing them so i quess it is wait and see although if you know what size they are when they breed and their behavior if the male acts in any way different then the female i sure would appreciate anything else you could share.. thank you again...
Its not a definite, but the longer the trailers, the better chance of that fish being an alpha male.
If you ever have to net them out for some reason then vent them while you got em out. Then you WILL KNOW which are male and female.

Thanks .. i will be netting out sooner or later to move them out of frontosa tank ..i will definitly take a peek then.. thanks again.
