Very interesting.

That's a pretty good pic for a cellphone!

Any update Justin?

I will VERY soon. Hopefully tonight. I just got back from buying my speedlight so I can shoot these little ninjas finally without a sideways cell pic..

BAM! Not the best pics (first attempt with the new speedlight and my D90 shoots a flash forward from the camera body as well as from the speedlight at the same time so colors in the pics are a little dark).

The larger of the two males has colored up really well and is 2". The smallest female is just over 1" (first pic). They were all the same size at 1/4" when I got them.

Finally!!! The Rock has come back to Vancouver!! To take pics!!! :D

Love the pics and that male. It is just me or do their mouths look even more terminal than Steinys?

IME they are about the same. The male you see mostly in these pics is practicing brooding. He is not holding fry but for the last month has been brooding bubbles. I have had other Satanoperca species do this before. Funny behavior to watch. The red in the dorsal is really starting to come in on both males.

Great pictures! That being said, the pictures dont do these guys justice. They are rockin'! Spunky guys for sure!

The one thing that has been a surprise to me has been the green color coming through on the muzzle (don't know the technical name for the cheek sorry, feel free to clue a guy in).

So I have what I think is two males and four females. I will have to offload the extra male in the near future. Or I can buy more females and keep two groups. Will have to wait and see.
