i can never figure it out, why do people buy fish when they know they done have the right set up, IT MAKES NO SENSE. it also makes no sense why your dad wont let you have sand instead of that hideous artificial blue gravel crap. maybe you should not keep fish until you arent at the mercy of what your father might think.

PEOPLE WHO CANNOT OR MOST OFTEN WILL NOT KEEP ANIMALS AS THEY SHOULD BE, SHOULD NOT HAVE THEM

^u r soo mean u r hurting my feelings.

Not being able to switch to sand because of your dad sounds like a excuse for not wanting to bother. Unless it's his tank it shouldn't matter what he thinks about it. What you should be doing is providing your fish with the best possible environment and doing what you need to so as to accommodate their needs. Obviously if you have a substrate sifting species you need to give it a substrate it can sift. If your not willing to this then you need to give up these fish untill you can. End of story.

I know from reading your threads that you have a lot of enthusiasm, but you really need to do some research before buying your fish. We all need some help from time to time , that's why these sites exist, but if your making the same mistakes over and over, people aren't gonna want to help you and your just gonna keep getting flamed every time you post.

This is getting a bit ridiculous.

At least once a week there is a new thread about a new fish you've purchased. They're all going into that same tank with the blue gravel. You say you've only got one Geo now; what happened to the one you purchased within the last month? Are all these fish dying? If so, that should be a wake-up call that something isn't right.

How old are you? Why is your dad always against what's in a fish's best interest?

I've been keeping fish since I was five and breeding angelfish since I was twelve. I don't think that age is any excuse for a lack of care or responsibility, especially when it comes to that of a living thing that is dependent on you for survival. I researched and planned every fish that I brought home. If it didn't work out, I either made changes or I did the responsible thing and took it back to the store. My parents never cared what substrate or decorations I used, so long as I was being responsible and caring for the fish properly.

These weekly new purchase threads are frustrating, especially when the past newly purchased fish seem to disappear from the tank. It's worrying.

Not taking anyone's side in this issue, but if you look at his profile, it says he has autism. Don't know if it's for real or if he's screwing around, but that could be a reason his father doesn't allow anything. Could also be the reason he has a new fish every week. He gets bored with his old ones. Maybe he brings it back to the store or maybe it goes for a ride on the porcelain express. It can get annoying when you see the same person buying tons of fish and not knowing what he bought, and that's why we are here. Lets help him if we can, not make him upset and want to leave the forum. We are all here for the same reason, that's to share knowledge with each other on a common interest.

Sorry for ranting but it gets annoying to me to see people give others a load of crap when they do something that wasn't too smart. Just answer the questions and let him deal with the consequences.

its probably a abalios or possibly a brachybrachs if it has black under its gills....you really should try to get some sand buddy cause its really what they need to thrive. I am glad you have an interest in geos as it is the fish i keep with much love. try to get some sand.
