Really? How do you think blood parrots are bred?

lol. the severum midas cross thing is just a theory. Theres even theories that BP are just deformed midas/red devil. Only the people who made them knows the answer. Or if a scientist studies the BPs genetic genealogy. But I'm not saying its impossible. But if a SA/CA hybrid egg hatched it probably wouldn't live long.peathenster;4299832; said:Really? glenbo;4299537; said:there is no way a Geo Brasiliensis can breed with a Convict, SA Cichlids do not breed with CA cichlids, they are completley different.

well the land that connects CA and SA is small and for a time weren't even connected, giving them a long time to evolve separately.BigPic;4300399; said:Who drew the line between the continents? Do the fish know about this line?![]()

They are a short bodied Hybrid between a Midas and a Red Head Vieja.

Through years of experimenting, fish breeding researchers have discovered a breeding technique to cross breed between Red Devil (Cichlasoma citrinellum) and Redheaded Cichlid (C. synspillum) to create offspring known as Red Diamond (Xue Zhuan Shi) and Red Precious Stone (Xue Bao Shi).
The only difference in these techniques rests on the sequence of sex selection in pairing the parentage. Some breeding researchers chose male Red Devil to pair with female Redheaded Cichlid, some did the opposite. At an earlier stage, due to the low supply of Red Parrot, fish pet shoppers could not utilize any standard to classify and grade Red Parrot for their sizes and appearances. With the increase of more available supplies of Red Parrot on the market, the Red Parrot shoppers could finally develop a standardized method to classify and grade the available Red Parrot on the market. Below is a table of my classifications and grading method on the four groups of Red Parrot which resemble that from the fish pet industry.

From edition 16 of the American Cichlids Association's Buntbarche Bulletin:
"I've seen many examples ofCichlasomas cross breeding within the genus,
but was rather startled to hear of a cross between a regular "convict" and a G.
brasiliensis! I've seen the photographic proof, too, the pair with eggs and with fry.
The same people announced a successful cross between a "convict" and a C.
friedrichsthali. My reaction to this was, "Where in the world did they get that
species?" I've wanted that one for years! Thanks to Jim Malcolm for sending me
this interesting bit."
