its good to be back, only to be leaving again :D i hate leaving my fish for long periods of time

Hi Peter... WOW... what a dream tank.:drool::drool:. Thanks for the link.. good article and great pics... Who knows maybe someday we will have tanks like that.. that would be so awesome.. I'm sure yours will look like that a lot sooner than mine... but my guy is really starting to colorup great and fill out so to impress all the ladies:ROFL:.. but I think he's still in the "wishing" stage at only about 7 months old. HAHA.. Hope your pair are still happy and doing their thing.. How are the "monster" CAs doing for you?? Sue:D

Took the tetras out last night. Both parents are still holding - hopefully we'll see some wrigglers in a couple of days :D. Tempted to strip one of them to at least save some fry...

They are hardly monsters ;). They are getting along surprisingly well - the argentea rules the tank but nobody is hurt (yet). I don't think the other fish are enjoying themselves tho, so maybe I should dial back and just keep a pair :(.

Three days in... wow.

Mine are 3 days in from their cross-town move and look to be ready to give it another shot even though I can't get the tank temp over 78 in the new place for some reason... not that it matters, since they always have the eggs or wigglers eaten. Still, I'm impressed. Usually anything under 82 messes them up for a while and gives them HITH. I suppose it's possible that the thermometer is off...

Were yours threatened last time? and at which point did they eat the eggs/wigglers?

Thanks ;)

Here are some pictures from yesterday - both parents were holding. Note the distended throats, especially obvious on the female (pic #3):

Checked on them this morning and the female was not holding!!! Had her mouth open. I totally freaked out...

One a second look, I saw lots of black dots moving in a small pit that the parents dug - wigglers :nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly:
