German Blue Ram in a planted tank with....?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have found proper cover to be important. They like a cave, and will usually need one to breed. Otherwise, I keep my nijsseni in my 33 with really bright lighting and not a lot of plants (at the moment, I'm growing a hairgrass carpet) and they are always out and not shy at all. They will come up to my fingers if I put them on the tank and beg for food.
I think another key is to get captive bred apistos that are less sensitive and shy. Most apistos now that I see are captive bred, but wild specimens are often available as well.

i have some white clouds in my tank any they look awesome with a red body with a yellowish stripe running through their body with yellow tipped fins

my white clouds are thriving in my tank that is about 76

that's because 76 is a subtropical temperature. 78 is tropical. White clouds are subtropical. BTW... I'd move your stock in the ten to your empty bow front.... it's terribly overstocked.

they will move there in about 3 months or so, but all the fish are pretty small and I have two filters running at about 80-90 gph and I do weekly 50% wc and it is pretty well planted
