Thank you... I cannot wait to get him here and start training.
If Schutzhund wasn't so expensive to train for I'd have him in that... So I think we will stick with obedience for now, unless I can get a trainer who will work with me cheap at first.
If I were to ever stud him out (I'm just starting out here, and each stud fee could cover a month's rent) I would want him to have:
Heart, eyes, and joints checked at 2yrs.
Hips OFA'd at 2yrs
CGC certificate.
Temperament tested.
If possible Sch1/Sch2/Sch3 titles
Obedience titles.
And lastly, conformation.
If he doesn't get all of that he will not be donating to the population.
Quite honestly... I would spend quite a lot to get those titles, getting him to Sch3 runs near $1,000 with some trainers. But if this turns out to be a dog I am really liking, I may, because I might enjoy the company of one of his pups in the future.
Yes I think way too far ahead. I don't even have him yet and I'm contemplating his son or daughter.
Well, I will know either way by 2yrs, because that is when he gets snipped or studded out.
