From my experience my 2 oscars grew fast from 3" to 8" in 12 months then slowed down but continued to get thicker and taller. They are now 10" at 1 yr. 9 mos. and still growing steadily. My other one who is significantly younger caught up in size quickly. Same tank, same diet, same maintenance routine.
