geting a red wolf and got a qustion

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would say yes, as long as there is not much of a size difference. I just ordered my red wolf from AE Aquatics too! (mines going with some polypterus/ knifefish)

Depends on the individual fish. Chances are it's NOT going to get along with another bottom dweller. If you're looking for tank mates stick with something that stays in the middle or top of the tank & even then it's a maybe.

How big is your tank?

its a 55 the guy has it on massavor pelets and will a large craw dad work the wolf is 6-7 inches

Alright, from someone who has actually had experiece with a Red Wolf, I'll try to explain a few things...
If you plan of having a lot of tank mates, you needs a big tank. An example... I kept mine in a 10-Gallon with a Senegal for a day, just until I got things moved around. About an hour after being together the Senegal was missing most of his tail. (He is still alive today ;)) Now, I added them both to my 60-Gallon, there were no issues.
If they are housed with territorial fish, they will be killed. Cichlids were the issue for me (Oscars, Blood Parrots, Flowerhorn). I also noticed bites on my Black Ghost Knife, African Knife, L001 Pleco, Eclipse Catfish, Channel Catfish. They will bite at anything they want.
Here is the tank I had setup with him in it at the time.

Good luck with him, and I would def. have a back-up plan if things go wrong. ;)

I had a breeding pair of Salvini and an sp.Peru cohab just fine in a 55. The Peru was probably one of the most boring fish I've ever owned. He'd eat massivore delight and then just sit there til' the next feeding - completely ignored the Sal's and visa versa.
It's really gonna come down to the idividual personalities of the Ery.Ery. and any other fish you shack up with it. At the very least I'd suggest having a divider handy if things go south.
