Just try it already. Just do it on a day you can keep an eye on every here and there.
I will be adding my Red Wolf to my 300 when he gets about 6" (another inch or so).

There r tankmates he might damage and tankmates that might eat him. It's all trial and error. If it's to expensive to attempt, then don't even bother. Any mix of species is a risk

It could work depends on the individual fish give it lots of hideing spots if your going to give it a go Syno cats aren't very fast moveing from what i've seen

A crawdad if its an adult and has lots of hideing spots could do fine but i don't like keeping them together for one at night the crawdad could harm the fish when its resting on the bottom and on the other hand the wolf could rip the craw dad apart when it molts it's shell So its risky for both sides

So is the 55 the final tank or do you have a bigger one? I've seen lots of "what can I put with" posts. What is your final stocking list for it?

See thing is all could be well for a few weeks or months, until something pisses him of and he goes nuts and kill everything that moves.

I got two one is 6" and leaves 2" convicts alone while the other is maybe 4 inch but will kill anything when ever it feels like. For example he could not catch some feeder minnows so he decided to destroy the tail fins on 3 jewels cichlids. Or if the gold fish was to big to eat he'd still tear their fins apart and kill them.

Only way to make them some what peaceful is keep them well fed and NO live food. And make sure tank mates are bigger then it.

Also some fish are just more aware of what they are up against, some of my dumb cichlids will steal his food, while my pike stays the hell away from the wolf. Seems like the other predator understands what that monster is.
