Gettin into salwater

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You 'can',but it doesn't seem worth it...why not wait until you can try with a bigger tank

My first salt tank was a 29, just wait for the PetCo dollar a gallon sale and pick one up!

Or go to walmart and get a 29g kit, they are less then $100 and come with a light, filter, tank, heater and hood. the filter is a penguin clone, what ever the scaled down version of the 330 is. then get some sand, the tip here is to get it from menards. I got a $5.00 bag that was enough for my 75, though you may be better off getting the 20# bag of live arg sand for a 29. then you will need your live rock, get some nice stuff and mix it with the dry stuff and it will all colonize eventually. Power heads can be bought cheap off of ebay, like less than 30 for a pair shipped. then you need test kits, salt, buffers and RO water.

I am just starting out with saltwater as well. I wish I would have had a smaller tank as it would be less expensive than a 75

Save the 10 for a sump for the 29
