Getting a big clown knife off feeders?

If you tie it to a string, isn't there the possibility of the string or whatever getting caught in his mouth or even him swallowing it?

Cut the small piece that you tie onto. So when it bites, it'll break off.

Would a clown knife go for a massivore pellet?

Would, and should!!!

I haven't seen mine eat yet. It is about 5-6inches, just got is a couple of weeks ago. All I feed my tank is sinking catfish, vege, and algae pellets and some small floating cichlid staple pellets. The cichlid staple is eaten almost immediately by my shovelnose lime that skims the top of the water, If the food is not swimming or suspending in water, I don't think mine will eat it. I could not imagine that the clown knife will take the sinkers off the bottom of the gravel, would he? I have been wanting to try shrimp, but his mouth doesn't look big enough to swallow tiny shrimp whole, so do they chew food? Shrimp is a little tough and chewy, so he would have to have a pretty strong chomper. He only comes out at night after I go to sleep so I am not around during his prowling hours. I was thinking of cutting up some shrimp and placing it in his castle, considering the only thing living in there is 3 rope eels and the CK. Think that would get him to eat?

if its only 5-6 inches try some frozen blood worms, or baby brine shrimp. thaw them out and put that in and they should go nutty for it.
