Defiantly there nice and colorful in the beginning but not much interaction more like a living work of art you can't touch lol

Once large enough it can consume fish but I've found they like shrimp the best

Plus Africans are pricy and you would need to overstock so let's say your doing male peacocks in the 90 and let's say your only doin 5 fish which you should do at least 15+ in a 90 and my lfs sells peacocks(which are the prettier cichlids) 50 a piece so for 5 x 50 = 250 so 250 for way less fish than needed is ALOT
Lets say you get 20, 20 x 50= 1000 so ya $1000 bucks for fish you'll get bored off not worth it so you know if you LOVE African and have money to burn you can do it but if not stay away and 50 is minimum for Africans I've seen Africans run from 80-200 unless you get babies witch are a gamble since its hard to tell difference between male and female as babies and females are ugly. Or you could do mabunas which are cheaper but they NEED really goo rock work and hiding places and you would need a lot of rock and can risk cracking the bottom of your tank and mabunas are super aggressive so you know it's hard work that doesn't pay off IMO plus they need high ph and a really strict diet etc.

Oh Michigan I would of stopped by but I'm in Boston lol well good job on the prices are they WC or CB cause my lfs is mostly wild caught and are really pretty colors.
