Getting into Salt Water, with an octopus!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't get what the flaming is all about?

The guy went fishing... caught an octopus- was going to stick a hook through it, and use it as bait... where it would have suffered a painful death.. And then once eaten, it would have been ceased to further exist, other than as poop from it being digested.

When people originally started keeping octopus' they didn't know what they were doing.

He cares about this thing, or he wouldn't bother water changing or feeding it- and he would have used it as bait.

Doubtful considering your grammar. It is you're, not your.

Nice change of subject. Obviously my poor grammar makes me ignorant.

You can be a land loving carnivore while retaining some humanity and compassion. Just because we eat animals does not mean anything goes. Thats a sad world to live in.

He didnt kill it theres your humanity and compassion.

Yeah, when they start using feeding their families for keeping an octopus in a bucket you know this thread is at rock bottom.

If I saw my father doing that Id be ashamed and hope that I take after the mailman instead.

How about asking him what he thinks about keeping a octopus in a bucket and see what he says.

Exactlly. The thing is still alive and EATING! Must feel comfortable in the bucket.

No kidding, I am not hiking to the sound with a 5 gallon bucket of water for my health!

Hahaha its the same crap that went around when someone decided to make a nano saltwater tank. Everyone said it couldnt be dont and where upset when someone actually did it. Now what do you know, theres a bunch of people with 1 gallon saltwater tanks.

It's hilarious that people have an issue with this bucket keeping, when it's the SAME size as a 5 gallon tank..

And it's much more humane than letting 2 fish in a tank fight to the death. Which many people do because they want to breed this "new awesome fish"- yet one of them suffers pain, and dies.

Kudos to the OP- Keep up the good work. He's cute, but makes my skin crawl. eek.

Name calling does not equal an attempt at the challenge of keeping an octopus in a bucket. By the way, I can PM you my paypal info and I will let him go for your offer.

Sounds good, the offer was six of pbr and bait, Ill send it out tomorrow.

I say you post a video of you feeding the octopus pieces of another octopus... collect the resulting droppings and mail them out to certain people so they can cry themselves to sleep over it.

Have you named it yet BTW? This many pages on a thread the little one deserves a name... even if he's bait...

I think people are looking for a reason to flame. If he posted a thread called "look at this monster grouper I caught using a live baby octopus" people would be saying, Whoa man nice catch, Moster fish dude. Damn that Grouper is a BEAST, and so on.. I love fishing and use live bait all the time. I'm against killing living things just for the sake of killing or thinking it's cool. He isn't doing that.. He caught it and thought, this would be much better as a pet than bait, I think i'll try keeping him as a pet. I don't see anything wrong with that. If it dies it will be used for it's original purpose, BAIT. If it survives he will have a bad@$$ pet that he can brag about. Good luck on the new pet.. If it dies, I hope you catch a MONSTER..

compromise couldn't you just adapt your bucket situation. Maybe get another bucket fill it with live rock circultate your water though it higher water volume and a means to break down toxins.Your situation sounds better than most of the asia fish shops i saw, if fits in happy days. It would be nice to see it though as im guessing its not a clear bucket. Maybe a a few pics of it in a tank would stop the hijak of this thread and see it feed
