getting my little jardini onto pellets !!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Trained him on the sticks first, then transition it to pellets

I found that with my old jar he hammered carni sticks for years then few months before I lost him he decided he liked hikari gold :)

Here he is the little rascal :D uploadfromtaptalk1392234359986.jpguploadfromtaptalk1392234390276.jpg
I've already got the dreaded worms from over feeding :banghead:

Hoping I can turn him into this soon enough uploadfromtaptalk1392234466642.jpguploadfromtaptalk1392234482018.jpg

Sorry about your loss. You can train them to eat pellets as long as you don't "spoiled" them with too much of one thing (e.g. feeders). We've trained a number of our arowanas to eat pellets. They seem to enjoy Hai Feng Fast Color and highly accept them based on our experiences with numerous batches.

Thanks I'll give them a shot if I can find them in UK :D

Sorry for your loss. When I lost my 16" silver aro that I had for a bit over a year It was by far the worst fish related thing that has hapenned to me. But like you I have bought a new one and havn't regretted it.
The lil jar is very handsome :D.

Cheers dan yer it was by far my worst day in fishkeeping too :( spoils of the hobby I suppose , ill soon have a serial killing beast on my hands again im sure :D

Hahahaha he ate one pellet and spat three , so were getting there slowly but surely :D

looking good dude he will be a monster in no time!-) could always try a butti too grow him with, they grow fast, are aggressive enough to stand their ground and are quick enough to get away when they realise the jar has teeth!-) they are fairly placid and care free until 10 inches aswell. as you know rocky is a tank, they can handle large aggressive fish pretty well too.

If it all goes pear shaped with the dat I'll give it a go mate so far they've been ok but I know once the jar puts few inches on it'll be a different story :D , my lfs has always at butti's in under 6"
