Getting new car..advice?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Honda, or Toyota is all I need to say for gas and reliabilty, Toyota tacoma 4 door is what I have now, love the truck, Look at the 4 runners, or others that fit the size needs you have, but honestly it all depends on what you are looking to spend. Subaru would be a good option as well.

Ugh if only money wasnt an issue.

But thanks i will keep those in mind.

Not sure if it's in your price range but rav4s are really nice. I just bought one for my gf, it's a 4 cylinder that gets 21 mpg city, and 28 highway, it's very spacious and you can raise and lower the drivers seat to your comfort and make sure your able to see. I bought a 2010 with 23,000 miles for $17,000

I think baller that to most an suv is anything that isnt a 4 door sedan. Which is why some smaller suvs are being suggested. But its ok i see why they would do it. Its just that the smaller subs in my experience while technically hAve the space for us its still a tight squeeze considering my 9yo would have to share a row of seats and navigate in and out of two carseats.

That's another thing. How long do you intend to have the vehicle?...Space gets tight when the kids get bigger.

trust me "bro", i know what you mean (about the necessary car seat space) which is why i figured you were looking at those cars listed. all huge spacious SUVs. not the lil tiny toy lookin ones. i'm just laughing at all the suggestions of small SUVs

ps, rav4 aren't spacious either

The 2007 had plenty of room I have a almost 2 year old plus all my crap and his plus work stuff and I had no issues. I was happy with the Tacoma just didn't feel right about beating it like I was. They all ran like new until the day I got rid of them.

Believe it or not its easier to have older kids than younger. The damn car seats are so bulky. In my husbands 4 door honda my car seats go on either side and my 9yo has to sit in the middle. So she has to squeeze in front of the car seats to get to her seat and then sit between two bulky plastic seats. Then you have to figure in how she put her seat belt on is a mission, then a bag for the toddlers, toys, my 9yos crap she tags along with (half her room). When the kids are older everyone can just schooch in a out of a car ergo making it easier to own a 4dr. But for now my daughter would appreciate not having to squeeze between 4" of space to get on and out and run over all our bags. Lol
