Ok so if i understood correctly the 7 passenger ford explorer is less spacious and gas friendly than the expedition?

I wasnt aware the Explorer was 7 passenger but it's got to have better mileage than it's big brother...

Yea apparently, and i didnt know either, there is an explorer with 3 row seats although i think someone said the third row leaves no trunk space. Which i also need. I have those twin strollers.

I'm willing to bet that third row seat folds down flat for cargo space and it's not much use as seats for anyone other than small children.

Well the third row would essentially be for a child.

Might be stupid question, how does one get to the third seat? Does the middle seat in the second row go down? Is this practical or a pta to do everytime? Can it be left down?

are we still talkin the XLT? i had one (would post pics but too lazy), it wasn't a ton of trunk space but yes the last row folded down.

the seat behind the driver seat folds down to allow access

Ohh i thought it was the middle seat.

My current van has a bench seat thats off to the side and the person in the back row would have to squeeze through about 6-9" of space. So i would like one that is easy to access third row.

Yes my 7 passenger explorer gets less mpg than the expedition did. Not by much though, so there could be a lot of factors involved.

I hate crossovers, like you said, they look spacious from the outside, not so much inside. My friend had a kia sorrento, and it was one of the more spacious I've seen. And kias are super affordable and come with amazing warranties.

Other than fuel ecibony, I lo e my explorers xlt. I'd loved the expedition more though. I'm 5'2" as well, and have no problems with either one. My explorers' peddles move up and down which is nice cause I don't have to sit up on the wheel to reach the pedals.

i'm 6"1" and it was a tight fit for me to get into the third row but i expect it at my size
