Getting rid of mirror effect on side of tank??

Your fish Arnt looking at the relfections its bored. My cats used to do it. I painted 3 sides of the tank and they still did it.

when I view the tank from the front panel I actually see the fishes reflection in the side panel. It sucks because I want to be able to view the tank from all 3 sides, so painting isn't an option. but you are right in the fact that the room is often dark when the tank is lit. So I am sure that that is a factor.

You may see the fishes reflection, but I guarantee you that they don't. The reflection you see has to do with the way light gets bent when passing between the air, glass, and water. Stick your head in the tank if you don't believe me, all you will see is a bunch of nice, clear glass panels.
