Getting some True Hystrix next week

Hate to break it to you (again).. but those are all very cheap brown rays out of Peru.. Exporters pay about $5 each for those..

Good work on the Constellata though!! Maybe you should make it your avatar and claim that you own it.. oh and make sure you still list Hystrix in your signature so you sound important..

Why don't you instead of spending money on all of these rays, save up, get a bigger tank/pond for all of the fish that you already have and give them all a good home. I'm not trying to pick on you I'm just saying. Enjoy the rays for what they are, not for how rare they are. I mean how many people can say they have stingrays for pets? Not many at all. Just enjoy the ones that you have and give them the best life possible and if your lucky maybe someday they will breed for you. Anyway whatever you choose good luck to you.

PS: The hystrix look like orbinyi or yepezi type rays from peru.

Im not bothered at all on the species of ray just that i own some more like you are saying, the rest of my money (im working these off so costs m,e nothing really) Is going to a pond/bigger tanjk.

What size tank do you have right now? how big are your motoros and are all of those fish in your signature in the same tank? I think it would be wise of you if you were to get the pond first and then get more rays. You don't want to end up losing your rays because you have to many in the same tank.

They are spread out between 7 tanks, i have 2 6" Disc motoros in a 6x2x2 very overfiltered and a few geophagus the new guys are going in the 6x2x2.

Well look now its changed, and its a very good picture of the constellata so thats why its my avatar

Well you would have to upgrade to a pond in about a year anyway with just the motoros. None of your tanks have enough room for 2 castexi and 2 humurosa/yepezi and 2 motoros so you might as well upgrade to a pond now, it will be easier in the long run. Then you could get a lot more rays and feel safe that they have enough room and not have to worry about comming home to them dead one day.

does your boss know you use MFK or what MFK is because he chould learn more about rays in 1 day than he knows now if he used this site

i would just get posstive IDs of the rays before you rush in to buying them its nothing to be scared of asking for a ID and no one will think any less of you for not knowing a type of ray at the end of the day that part of what MFK is all about helping people ID fish

LFS owners as good as some maybe they dont know everything most of the time they just go by the names exporters give them which are not always right

you are a young fishkeepers with a massive passion for fish just ask for IDs not tell everyone what you are getting before you or you boss know what they are

i wouldnt buy those rays if i was you.... you need to work on a bigger tank or pond as a 180 or 220 is not gonna cut it for long.... stash the money skip the rays and upgrade to a more monster set up then stock the hell out of it.... 600 gallon pond 8'x4'x30" or in CM for you 244x122x77.... seriously you need a upgrade before you get more rays...
