So I am getting so busy that my tank maintenance on my 210 is starting to impact my life a little. I do 75% water changes weekly to keep my nitrates low. There is NO WAY I am getting out of the hobby, so I am considering reducing my stock to one, maybe two fish in my 210 for awhile. Right now I have:

2 Oscars (12 and 14 inches)
1 JD (11 inches)
1 Juvy Midas (4 inches)
1 Carpinte (7 inches)
1 Jag (8 inches)
1 con (5 inches)
1 Juvy Argentae (3 inches)
1 Juvy Festae (4 inches)
1 Juvy Red Tiger Mota (4 inches)
2 Frontosas (4 and 5 inches)
1 Raphael Strip Cat (6 inches)
1 High Fin Pleco (3 inches)

Should I:

1. Reduce stock and keep some of what I have? If so what would you keep from my current stock?

or

2. Trade them in to my LFS and do a rapps order for one or two wild caughts? If so what one or ones would you do?

Oh, and the tank is a 72 x 24 x 29

Thanks All!

what are your nitrate levels at the by the time you do a water change? just curious since im gonna be setting up my 210g soon and i think it will have a fairly heavy load...

Get a breeding pair of something, should keep your interest considering the limited stock number....

x2 get a breeding pair! A pair of festae, managuense, trimacs, dovii, or anything big would look great in there.

Ditch the pleco no matter what though, they're poop machines.

^ That's what I'd do. Pick a species you like and see about getting a pair. Personally I'd love to have a pair of trimacs and if I get another good sized tank that's what's going in it.

i would get rid of the following:

2 Oscars (12 and 14 inches)
1 JD (11 inches)
1 Juvy Midas (4 inches)
1 Carpinte (7 inches)
1 Jag (8 inches)
1 con (5 inches)

those are either the big waste producers, or IMHO the fish i would personally get rid of.

All great suggestions!!! Thanks. To the nitrate question, I change the water when it hits 20 ppm which is usually every 5-7 days.
