Getting too busy...one fish in my 210 maybe??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A nice pair of Rapps Featae would look great in a 210..

put on a couple eheims itll help out.
or a couple fx5's or something.

Filtration is not the problem, I have plenty of that. 2,000 gallons per hour in a 210 is plenty.

I am starting to like the idea of a breeding pair in a 210. The other questions I have is how significantly the growth rate will slow to dovii if they are a breeding pair?

I would do a single Haitiensis (Black Nasty), or a pair of Cubans or motaguense.

In my experience, they slow down quite a bit. However, they still grow a lot every month. Maybe 1/4-1/2" a month as opposed to 1"+ a month.

I personally would keep one of the Oscars, your favorite one, the jag, the carpinte, and a pleco. That would significantly lower your bioload.

Do a pair or oscars, or a pair of doviis. everything else is ugly (except the red tiger mota, and the festea)

Jags ugly??

Not just your Jag, ALL your fish are ugly.....except rtm and festae.

Just kidding you guys...sorry I'm such a SmartA-- sometimes.

Here's what I would do:

2 Oscars (12 and 14 inches) Sell them if you can find a taker. They're huge waste producers.
1 JD (11 inches) Sell him
1 Juvy Midas (4 inches) Sell it.
1 Carpinte (7 inches) Keep
1 Jag (8 inches) Keep
1 con (5 inches) Sell
1 Juvy Argentae (3 inches) Keep
1 Juvy Festae (4 inches) Keep
1 Juvy Red Tiger Mota (4 inches) Sell
2 Frontosas (4 and 5 inches) Sell them
1 Raphael Strip Cat (6 inches) Sell it cuz you never see him.
1 High Fin Pleco (3 inches) Sell, aren't all pleco raw sewage machines?

That leaves you with a Jag, Carpinte, Festae and an Argentea.

Keep the temperature down about 77-78F and don't overfeed.

There nothing wrong with that idea either.

I'm thinking it might be time to make a thread in the for sale section on some of my fish.

Problem solved thanks to my good friend Spizz! I am getting back the male dovii I traded him (now 7+ inches) and placing him solo in my 210. Spizz has some tank space and is holding my other fish for me until I get some more tank space and time. I get the best of both worlds and don't have to ditch my fish.
