Here's my new black wolf (and first wolf fish of any kind ever), Ghost. He's somewhere in the range of 13"-13.5" right now. These were all taken a day or two after getting him into the tank, most of the torn fins/missing scales here are healed up already. I'll get some newer pics up sometime soon.

The different extremes of his coloration on display above and below.

Blurry pic, but at least you can get an idea of his size here (6 foot tank).

one of my favourite fish ever! i love the coloration and the unique head shape of this species.

Nice black...what's the collection point? Just asking because I have one the same size but the coloration is a lot different.

Thanks all! As for location, I was told he was imported from Colombia. I don't know if they exist in any rivers in Colombia, or if they were brought in from Venezuela or Brazil first. I wish I knew the exact river, but not sure. I'll do some research and see if any of the rivers in Colombia would have curupira natively.

Very nice looking wolf!!

Hows his activity level???

Thanks! He's actually very active, which I'm very happy about. Surprisingly very interactive, almost puppy-like when I come near (definitely during feeding time). He probably only spends 10-20% of the time on the ground, mostly hovers mid-level underneath the HOB filter or up top near the outlets of my canisters. He's already trashed and eaten every single fish in the tank with him other than my royal pleco, so he's just in there by himself right now.

Anyone have any experiences or opinions on possibly keeping a mid/large sized SA/CA cichlid with wolves? He ate all my 5" silver dollars, so I'm thinking any tankmate(s) would have to be significantly larger for me to bother trying. I also think a bigger cichlid might be smart enough to stay out of the wolf's mouth. Not sure if the aggressiveness/territorial nature of a cichlid might work against it, seeing as it'd lose any head to head argument. Kind of hoping he wouldn't even try to mouth say a 8-10" cichlid, but I have zero prior experience with these guys.

My curu was raised with 6 peacock bass and 4 widebar silver dollars without any issues.
