Not the best pics, but you can at least see how much his tail fin has healed up. It originally was torn all the way to the base of his body (see the first pic in the OP), looks to be about a quarter inch from being completely healed now. I'm thinking he should be 100% within a month or so.

That's a great curu! Can't wait to have a hoplias, I love my red so a beast like that.. I'd he hanging out in front of my tank constantly haha

If you do try the cichlids idk if a pair would he a good idea, if they breed they'll get crazy and the wolf may either kill them or depending on the cichlid the other way around. I'd go with something more peaceful and maybe a duller color, my wolf likes to go at it with brightly colored fish in general but ignores darker ones

I think I've kind of backed off of that idea working out so well lately. My thought process was that if I had him just eating frozen foods for a month or so, he'd chill out on the idea of eating live. He's actually 100x more nuts now than he was when I first got him, so it doesn't look like that's going to be the case here.

No joke, when I bring the plate of food downstairs to where he can see me, he goes straight to the top and starts smacking the glass tops to where they bounce up and down. I actually have to dangle the food above the right side top to distract him and then open the left side and throw it in really quickly. He's gotten really close to getting me several times this week... Seriously insane and scary, but also hilariously awesome at the same time.

Hell yeah that's a happy n healthy wolf haha they generally chill out with age, my uncle had a mala for a long time and showed me videos of it acting as yours does and even my red wolf did that for the first like 6-8 months and still does if he gets too hungry

Keeping wolves is awesome haba
