Here's an old pic of him schooling with the bass.

Awesome, thanks for that. Looks like I'll have to find some larger cichlids to start with and see what happens. Being wild caught and brought in at almost 14" might make this harder than if he was raised with tank mates.

Idk because mine was a glass banger when I bought bought him, he even bit the guy at the store through the net and drew blood lol. But I just kept him well fed and he was ok....and like you said most cichlids know to stay away from their mouths.

Nice vid! and really nice looking setup.....

Will be interesting to see how fast he grows :)

I was really struggling with getting this to embed earlier. Coffee helps...

Dang, it doesn't show up in the mobile app. I'll have to fire up the laptop later.

Nice fish, killer for cleaning out your tank from everything else alive.
A wolf on the truest meaning of the word... and a stunner!

Thanks, I appreciate it! I really want to attempt to put a pair of larger cichlids in with him, but I doubt it'll work out well.

I fed him earlier today and one of the pieces of shrimp fell behind him into some driftwood. Went to go grab it with a pair of tongs and he grabbed them near the top of the handle, shook it back and forth, and almost wrenched the tongs right out of my hand. Definitely using tongs 100% of the time I need to go in there from now on, just glad that wasn't my hand instead.
