He started out in a smallish tank, I believe 20-35 gals, then I got him a 75(4'x18")

Depends on the size of him, I've kept babies in a 10gal, a 40b will work for awhile.

Man, mine got to 8 and was also named spike. Mine lost a lot of vigor later in life though, couldn't move her tail anymore :(. Good job on your guy though, seems lively even at that age :P

Thanks, I needed his tank, so I built him a 3'x3' enclosure with scrap wood and i found a rad piece of wood.

Not the most ideal enclosure but more space then a 4'x18"!
