We've been salting and using formalin 3, but like i said only two bettas have lived and we've had a good five of them die on us already. Mind you they were cheap bettas from meijer's.

rule of thumb is 30-45 grains per half gallon

try betta zing, and get java moss as soon as you can to help keep water good and clear. It will keep water clean and prevent stuff like fungus

We use jungle brand and it sais you put in one table spoon for ten gal. And it also has electrolytes and a stress coat.

Didn't you recommend some snails too. We have a tank full of snails right now.

Should be. Some bettas harrass snails though
