Giant blue prawn vid

LOL I'm usually in the cichlid section and decided to venture off. I needed a look at something different and glad I looked here. That prawn is awesome!

There may be rosenbergii prawn in El Salvador if attempts at aquaculture operations were made. Otherwise, it may be M. tenellum or another undescribed species.

Scientific name is Macrobrachium rosenbergii

You can get them from Miami Aquaculture or Aquaculture of Texas. Also look for 'meanass blue prawn' on aquabid. If you live close to Connecticut, I have an extra male that I will need to find a home for soon. I'd be happy to give him up if he's going to a good tank.

They are heavily aquacultured in the midwestern U.S. and in the Philippines! They are delicious!

Yup! Too bad the arms and claws aren't bigger though as they would be edible too!
