C'mon, guys. It's an April Fools Day joke. It says so right in the article, and there are hints throughout (Auto Foto Drone=AFD=April Fools Day; Regional Underseas Studies Endeavor = RUSE). Plus the photo is clearly fake. Nobody's trying to put one over on you, the fakery is meant to be obvious.

Even a wels would not reach this size. I find it always strange that stories about monster-sized catfish are so popular in the USA, and why so many people have no doubt about their truth, despite the fact that not a single confirmed specimen came ever close to this sizes.
