what do u consider ample space??? in a 100 000 gallon tank i am almost willing to guarantee any fish that wasn't sick would be perfectly fine, but in a 250 or sumthing i would think that there would be some losses for sure

Yeah.
Now that i think about it. Scratch the rtc. He can go in the sump. :)

don't forget gar as well, they just snap his tankmates..sometimes, even bigger than his/her mouth..how big ur tank actually??any spesific dimension??

Shame though. I prefer 9 more than 2.;)

So do I. :]
But the big tank would be way more gallonage than the 9.

BTW: The gar are cool w/ tankmates. :]

You'd need something like 3000G's + to help save other fish from getting eatin. Let alone, a 3ft RTC requires a huge tank. But if you say he can go in the sump, that must make the sump at LEAST 6x2x2?

You're going to need a hell of a huge tank. Something along the lines of 10ft x 4ft X 3ft ...and that is going to cost you a pretty penny. Acrylic tank from Tenecor 775G size with that dimensions will run you around 7 grand!

1045 gallon..10ft x 4ft x 4t around 13 grand. I hope you can afford it. :nilly:

This to me is just an imagination. Its far cheaper to build a concrete tank rather than have a acrylic/glass one.
Jeox said that he wouldnt keep all these fish to max size, so that, in theory decreases the size of the tank you NEED but you need to provide for a fish for its entire life and size, because who knows, you may not be able to sell it. But RTC's are good eating.

No...Just no...
