Some folks mix giant with true gourami. We have true gouramis here for pretty cheap, I think one in Dayton for around $20 or so.

If you do run across the large gig don't buy it once they hit 10" they become jerks

That's debatable. I had one and she was gentle, never bothered soul, including me. I remember removing flukes from her, never jumped. Ate out of my hands and didn't bother a fish. Now my RTGG, he was another story. All depends on the fish.

what do u mean by true gouramies? are they some type of gg or just those small gouramies? newbie here.

it's hard to find gg's Here in boston lol. i want a white/redtail so bad
