I must admit since I joined this forum I've had a us gallon to litres conversion table printed out because I only work in litres and 90% on here work in gallons and use it for a quick reference guide. That tank is not even on the bottom end of my scale and it has a 15' gg in it.

I'm sure the gg would love some extra space

On a more serious note, shouldn't we all be getting drunk somewhere else at this time of the year? Not sure what time it is in the states but it 21:30 here and most of Australia should be nursing hangovers by now.

Dude are you kidding me? 15" fish in a 36L"x12W"x18H" enclosure, if I did that too my fish they'd come crashing through the side an use one of my Tequila Shovels on me! I have mine in an area of 72L"x18W"x30H", with a few other smaller tankmates and they only battle with each other not there tankmates & some of there tankmates are small enough for the Titan PR. to almost inhale.

Also I don't know where you get that RTGG are placid compared to other GG.
Maybe because you only keep yours with an armored fish. But mine are constantly at each others throat. Later I'll post the latest set of Battle Scars on my Titan Male given to him by his mate.

I don't agree with his tank, but i do agree that RTGG are less agressive as my 2 RTGG are.

Believe me I have kept 2 RTGG, one is the one that I have now and another one is 5 years ago, there are less aggressive compare to the Golden Giant Gourami. Though they are a bullies towards other fish, they don't kill it. I have put mind mind with Oscar, sometime there are a few skirmishes but not a lethal one. Even the pleco get a litlle nip from time to time. They don't charge and try to bite on the front of the aquarium when people come near the tank. This opposite to the Golden Giant Gourami, it will charge, try to bite and spill the water in your tank when anybody come to the tank. You cannot insert your hand inside the tank without getting bite. The Golden GG will kill all new fish introduce in its tank.

About the RTGG tank, appreciate everybody comment on that, I will definitely move him to a space. What size do you think suitable for him? Is 75 gallon Ok?

Yes the tank is too small and yes it needs no be upgraded.

A 75 would be good but George is in a grow out 125 and he is only 9' buying us lots of time to find the space for 'his' tank.

Apologize if my knowledge on tank size is limited. In my country tank are measured by feet. 75 gallon is 4 feet tank. It is considered the most common large size aquarium among aquarist here. The most largest is 5 feet tank and bigger than that you cannot buy in the LFS, you have to order for a custom made tank.

My guys bite the glass, at first I thought they where going crazy then I noticed they were grazing on the fine Algae on the glass. Now I don't even clean the back glass on my tank because they are always grazing on the Algae. When I get a better camera I'll take a clear shot of the bite marks throughout the Algae on the back glass.

And if I ever stuck my hand in the tank and any fish tried to take a bite out of me. The rest would know better, because that fish would go from the tank to the frying pan in a heart beat, even if they aren't edible.

Don't sweat it, I have kept fish in this and smaller tanks that would grow up to be big enough to ride. Just that I didn't keep them that long.

Ok here is a vid of my Titan Male after he got B*tch Slapped by his old lady.
If you look closely you'll see that bout 1.5 inches above his left eye he has
a bitten scale and then along his LT side he has a straight slash from his old ladies straight razor.

Very nice, any info on tank size, setup etc. ?

tank is an overstocked 150G tall, custom built in '92.

im thinking about setting up a 1200g pool pond for all my monsters..right now thats just a thought..but i am seriously considering it..would be awesome..

Tudiapaktam, I want to congratulate you on your attitude towards all the various replies that you have been getting in regards to the size of your tanks. It could have been so easy for you to get pissed but you always remained calm and, most admirably, you kept a very open mind.

And you are so right in being so. These guys here are great people, very knowledgeable and helpful (though a bit rough at times ).

Here in Mauritius, we use the same principle when considering tank size - length in feet. For example, my tank is 5x2x2. It's considered as a medium one. Big tanks are as from 6 feet. The biggest I've heard about is at 14x4x3!

Most of the tanks are custom-made in glass. Some LFS sell a few asian-made ones like Boyu but they are extremely expensive and very few people buy them. I've personally never seen an acrylic tank here.

And, Like Asia, we have totally different opinions when it comes to tank stocking! One member here, Jed (The Trust), has a tank that makes me drool and cry and howl and pray so much I love it. Yet, many people would consider it overstocked.

All our equipments come from Asia and, as I once mentioned, OHF like you use is the most common means of filtration here. We also use a lot of ceramic rings. I suggest you try a stacked setup (like the one on my 55 gal) for your GG - with 3 tiers, the bottom two filled with ceramic rings. I also suggest you get a 5 feet tank for it. You could try to house the 2 GGs you have in it. No gravel for ease of cleaning. 80% water change on a weekly basis. No other tank mates. A divider ready in case of aggression.

Our countries have very similar cultures when it comes to fish, my friend (though I wish here we could get the same prices as Malaysia). I'm counting on you to post as many pictures as you can of tanks, fish, filtration, ponds, etc. whatever you want to share.
