can the gg be housed with a jardini?I want to raise one.

I would say no, jardini tends to only like live food, it's like everything else I wouldn't raise a gg with oscars but Bruce does successfully, I wouldn't have an arrow in there either but Koji does and it works, Tequila has 4 red tails in the same tank and they fight but in general get along fine unless they go at it.

You would have to keep it really well fed to avoid aggression issues, personally it's not worth the risk unless they are brought up together at the same size. There again any gg could be be aggressive or passive they're seems to be no way to tell, so again no, not worth the potential risk IMO.

This is MFK so another tank is always an option ;)

WOW.....lately it would seem that everything Yanbbrox says I disagree with, a bit. I had a Jardini Arowana when I decided on get these RTGG's. The Arowana was quite aggressive going after everything in the tank that it could get. What it couldn't eat it killed, including hand size Anglefish, a Tricolor Shark, various Catfish until I got totally tired of it and purchased one pair of rtgg. I then gave it back the Aro to the person that gave it too me. He returned it to his 55G along with the one he had, until it did a swan dive out of the tank, while he was at work.

I believe that if your Arowana is feeding a dried food you may have a chance. I gave my Aro back because when I took on the RTGG's, first one pair they took the aro apart after it's first attack on one of them, and they were only 6" inches then imagine now when there 16" inches, they'd pick it up and throw it out of the tank.

Please note that while my rtgg go after one another sometimes like crazed animals, they have never gone after another tank mate that didn't start on them first. I got a kribenses that is like 2.5 inches that steals food from the month of the largest male. And he does'nt give a dam.

Wow my connection bites tonight, up, down up, down!

Let's clear a few things up, after reading and reading and if your really bored read this whole thread but it would seem that the whole tank mates for GG's could easily go on and on.

Tequila's, go off on each other, yet Bruce keeps 3 red tails(now 2) I'm sure one was male in the same tank with no aggression. When we got ours he chased to bala sharks to death on the first night even though he was halve the size of them and never actually touched them as such just chased them. This was followed by 2 large silver dollars the second night. The remaining tank mate still gets chased every now and again but just ignores it and have been together for over 6 months. About 3 or 4 months a go we got 2 moonlight gouramis thinking he may not chase them and he never does so we got 2 more within halve an hour one was missing and turned up under a piece of wood, well halve of it did, the only thing that could have done it was the gg. He still ignores the remaining 3 and they are happy to swim along with him and he doesn't care.

There seems to be no way to tell but I will say this, the older they get the more chilled out they become, this is another generalization. You posted that yours was really chilled therefore that would lead me to believe that he should be good with anything that is not aggressive towards it

It's all good, it would be no fun if we didn't disagree every once in a while;)
