LOL,in your garage?..Somehow I have a feeling that the one you encountered was a different species from the one that is being discussed here.

Actually this doesnt seem out of place at all scientist have noted in atleast 5 papers i have now read on them. That they will hunt on land if a notable path or trail for food is found. I also have found that asians fatten them up in cages feed crickets to make special dishes to eat.

well henry survived the night his tank seems to have turned white due to amonia cycling. We plan to try feeding a cricket to him tonight and take it from there.

they do breathe air as adults so water quality shouldn't be too importent for it

Freaky looking thing though lol, every spring we get diving Beatles on on the tarp covering the pool when the snow and ice thaws. There cool to watxh swim around and catxh other bugs floating on top of the tarp. On an episode of "dirty jobs" on discovery, they fed them crushed up crickets. But simce there predatory you probably wouldnt need to kill the cricket firsr, especially for one the size you have.

yup thats the same bug. I got him to eat a cricket tonight will take a pic latter on of the kreapy hollow shell of a cricket
