Are you seriously trying to argue the little numbers of running a tank?

There are more important parts to this hobby then saving some time and money on water changing. Like you could save money on feeding cheap pellets or using a smaller tank, but you spend that loot to give the best to your fish because that's what this hobby is: trying to gibe our fish he best environment we can. I know you care about your fish, I guess Im just confused why youre so opposed to water changes.

Sorry but 600$ aren't little numbers to me while I pay a mortgage, car, buying my gf a ring to propose and taking care of my animals (cat, 6 piranhas, red eared slider, 12 yr old bearded dragon, 4 1/2' ball python and a german ram tank!)

The point is I do provide the best possible environment for my animals and i save $$ whilst doing so!

I'm not opposed to wc, would you rather change 90gal of water or 40gal and have the same parameters? Not to mention pothos help purify the air and provide a great root system for cover!

F1 can do what he wants i dont know why your arguing with him over him saving his own money:screwy::screwy::screwy::screwy::screwy::screwy:

Thank you, I thought this was overly obvious.

the point is he is saving 600 dollers a year is that not enough for you?

600$/year is alot of money to me

alright guys, no point arguing over that, everyone has different approach and water cost differently at different places, some use additives some don't so there's no right or wrong. as long as you put the fish's well being @#1 which is the most important part it's all good. if you can save a bit money here or there, it's a plus.

Exactly, and for the record I'm not arguing, simply providing good efficient ways of setting up a piranha tank and saving some cash at the same time.

I like the idea of using pothos since it reduces nitratates and also prevents algae growth by reducing nutrients.
One just shouldn't neglect WC completely, since there will still be growth-hemming hormones and some nitrates in the water. But that's not what F1 VET is doing AFAIK. So let's get back to topic. :)

Thanks chub, I can always rely on your sense of knowledge and experience! My fish have never been healthier and i have more time to spend with my girl and animals!

Mopani, I use microbe lift bw amazon extract, it doesn't change ph whatsoever in the year that I've been using it, a 10$ bottle lasted me 9months and it looks great! Like Mike said adult p's are less active so for this reason I would provide a nice piece of dw and or plants to make them feel comfy and give a natural amazon themed setup!

I got lucky with my dw, it is very thin and takes up minimal space but provides cover, and they loving swimming up and around the branches!

Sorry for the derail, I just simply think tossing some dwarf sag or other fast growing, fully aquatic or even floating plants are a simpler and just as efficient a solution.

SOB. my friend is deciding to take them on the move, 50/50 half pissed i didnt get them and then a bit relieved
