noob question... how do I know if my fish needs gill curl surgery? what exactly is wrong with the fish that requires it (besides the gills being curled)?

gill curl is usually from bad water quality, if leave untreated it could get worse and eventually will lead to death in fish due to gill infection, etc.

i understand what it is from, i was asking about ID. and did your rhom have that since you got it? since you've had it for 3 years It'd be hard to imagine you keeping any of your tanks filthy

it already had gill curl when I got it, I got it on 4/20
