If you're in an open enough relationship, ask your mate (gf in scientifist terms) about the idea of polygamy, and if she says no, don't do it. That simple.

Shoot if ur gf and other friend likes eachother maybe you can have them both!

^This articulates my point well.

I was in a similar situation years back. I married my best friend and sorry I didn't make the move earlier..

To the OP. Going on a fish forum to ask a bunch of fish nerds about girls? :screwy:

So you have a GF and a friend that you really like also? Personally if you have a GF and your even thinking of someone else you could be with then your not true to your GF. Do you love your GF? If so then that's it, there's no reason to want your friend to be more than anything but a friend. Then again it's been only a year and your already having these thoughts, that's not exactly good either. Your GF is your GF and your friend is your friend why change it. Your just asking for trouble IMO.

The question before us distinguished fishkeepers reminds me of the following anecdote about choosing a a partner (wife):

A man wanted to get married. He was having trouble choosing among three likely candidates. He gives each woman a present of £5,000 and watches to see what they do with the money.

The first does a total makeover. She goes to a fancy beauty salon, gets her hair done, new makeup; buys several new outfits and dresses up very nicely for the man. She tells him that she has done this to be more attractive for him because she loves him so much.
The man was impressed.

The second goes shopping to buy the man gifts. She gets him a new set of golf clubs, some new gizmos for his computer, and some expensive clothes. As she presents these gifts, she tells him that she has spent all the money on him because she loves him so much.
Again, the man is impressed.

The third invests the money in the stock market. She earns several times the £5,000. She gives him back his £5,000 and reinvests the remainder in a joint account. She tells him that she wants to save for their future because she loves him so much.
Obviously, the man was impressed.

The man thought for a long time about what each woman had done with the money he'd given her.
Then he married the one with the most prominent chest.

Men are like that, you know.

There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research... This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

Agreed. You could do this but in the end it's not going to work. Then you ruin both relationships then your depressed because you lost your GF and your best friend. Dumb answer, be a real man and please don't choose this.Believe me, it's not all about the _ _ _ _ _.

This is all really strange. because I was with a girl for two years. While with this girl, my best friend (who's a girl) and I screwed around all the time and I had no regrets because my ex was a ******* *****. (Fill it in with whatever you want). But after about a year and a half of doin this, my best friend and I finally started dating. We've been together a grand total of 4 years, counting the time I was with my ex. And stuff STILL hasn't gotten old. PLUS. She loves my hobbies. She's even starting up herself. Small, but she's starting up. She's probably the nicest, sweetest, prettiest girl I've met. She's also sassy as hell, funny as **** and her eyes'll ****in wipe you out. Our friendship means I have nothing BUT respect for her. She's pretty much my world right now, besides college obviously. We can hang out for hours and hours just watchin my fish tanks and she's perfectly happy. PLUS she puts up with all my crazy ideas and easy frustration. Point is, you never know what may come out of taking a chance. I did and I'm the happiest I've been in a long long time! I regret that our relationship started out as cheating, but after being cheated on by my ex I was pissed. I guess everything happens for a reason as we always say in this house. I'm glad I'm finally with my girl. Today is our anniversary!
