everyone deals with it in there own way but for me i find the best thing to do is be around friends to help keep your mind off of it.

Anyways, 4 years is a long time. I'd say do whatever works for you. That is, to stop thinking about her. It's gonna be hard, but it will pass, just takes time

How do you people deal with this?
I usually skate to clear my mind, but we are currently dealing with a crazy winter storm (freezing rain, ice, snow, frozen gas station burritos, you name it).

She wants to know if she can be dependant on her own. Thats pretty much it. Like you said, 4 years is a long time, so she wants to make sure she can really be self sufficient and get her stuff together. And she felt like we were too good of friends, but thats probably my fault because I felt like I actually understood her. I find girls to be extremely confusing and sometimes irrational (sorry! I know thats a sweeping generalization), but I feel like she was different.
Oh well. Live and learn. I learned a lot from our relationship though, and I think both our lives definitely benefitted from it so i wouldn't change anything.
