I thought this forum is for sharing information I'm guessing you caught them in a private pond.

I can remembersome of my favorite fishing for Bass using a Fly Rod and hand tied streamer. Ohhhh...it was great.
Up here we do this for Small mouth Bass on Lake Superior.
Hooking a smallie...well it's like grabbing a bulldog.

I still have not caught one. It's a goal.

We cant have the same standard here, also it was 60s for like two weeks then suddenly went to lows of 20 and highs of 37. So the lake didnt freeze to warm.

nooooooooo large mouth tastes like crap all the ones ive had did at least and it was fresh (i know i caught them) but they were from warm water lagoons and lakes.

LMB don't always taste bad. It really depends on where you catch them and what time of yr. Also, the larger and fatter they are the worse they often seem to taste.
The problem is, LMB are like garbage cans. They'll eat anything and they're also not picky about water quality. Much like channel cats. Channel cats can taste GREAT ouf clean water with the right food sources, but horrible in other places.
I caught a big fat LMB out of a lake near here and it didn't taste too bad. The longears were still better though.
I prefer panfish, so I usually just throw the bass back and keep the smaller sunfish.
