If it takes him at least 1.5 years I might be able to upgrade by then... what do you think? How big will he be in 1.5 years?
Definitely wont fit for 1.5 years. They grow 1.5-2" a month until i think it was 18"? or 20" (forgot, but its somewhere there)crazychomp;3419803; said:If it takes him at least 1.5 years I might be able to upgrade by then... what do you think? How big will he be in 1.5 years?
bigdaddycool;3421143; said:most people will disagree but i think that 150 will hold him for at least 1.5 years. go for it then try to sellem or givem away then - at least you got to enjoy rearing it to a prime size.
give it time - you'll see that your 150g will serve its purpose better than most people say it will.

At best your 125g will house a 18-20" silver aro. Average growth of a silver is 1-1.5" per month. So in 9 to 12 months, your now 6" silver will be 18" and in need of a new tank
true and the jardini wont last very long in that tank probably just like 1 year or less in that tank and i suggest 8x2.5x2 as the minimum size for life and GL brosmartlove_518;3424592; said:i dont think everyone's aro grows at the same rate. some people keep their fishes in pristine condition and feed it well. some dont. so if you give your fish some time there will be a point when you will figure out that the tank is too small for the fish. its you who is seeing the fish in person and not us. i know you want to plan for the future but as most of us said you wont be able to house that fish for 1.5 to 2 years.
and since it is a jar it needs a mich wider tank than the silver as it is not as fliexible as the silver.
