IMO, the braces need to be a bit closer then 34" apart(with one 10"wide brace), this might cause a bit of unwanted stress on the tank, then add a clawing turtle that has the ability to ram and chip glass... umm i wouldnt chance it...

umm with 3 center braces at 3" wide thats 18 7/8 on center and 16 7/16" from edge to edge, but no reason to get technical...

and yah i definetly think that 3 is beter then two..., thats playing it safe... making it stronger then it absomutly has to be... bare minimum is two braces, three is obviesly better..., one in the total midel and the two others inbetween that.
