But do u think just using 2 3" wide 23.75" from edge to edge will be ok?

yah you should have no problems with it... thearedicly, sorry i seem to hace misplaced my copy of catia(used in the automotice and arospace industry to simulate all materials in real like in real time under real stresses...) that way i could have modeled it and tested it... but that might be overdoing it and putting a multi million doller program to actual good use...

and yah i definetly think that 3 is beter then two..., thats playing it safe... making it stronger then it absomutly has to be... bare minimum is two braces, three is obviesly better..., one in the total midel and the two others inbetween that

and that would leave me 4 gaps of how much space?? By the way if using 3 instead of 2 would you still use 3" wide or would u use 2" wide

Man i just spent 3hours here and 140 replies later, its 3:30 in the morning, im gonna have to go to sleep soon, i think that you have all the info that you need to do this successfully... and if you get discurraged just remember, you could have spent $1000-$2000 on a ready made tank... this way its near free...

you got me thinking about 3 cross instead of 2 i just need to now how wide 3 would be and how much of a gap that would leave me

just go with the 2 3" wide ones and call it done, that enough for it not to split apart, not to mention that your tank isnt going to be full all the time, this gives you enough strength that if you did fill it it wont break...

2 3" wide braces are fine..., if you want 3 braces(with 16 7/16" between) then 2" wide should be fine... you need the most space inbetween as posable right?, then just go with the two braces...
