Glasscages = Rude

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice, I'm glad I found this thread, I was seriously considering picking up their 48x48x25 and 2 of their 48x30x25 tanks this year...mainly due to price.

Normally I like to form my own opinion about vendors but with this much negative feed back I'll definately be taking my money some where else.

As a consumer I expect to be catered to, part of that is polite service. There are so many vendors and sellers out there that the rude ones aren't going to get my business...even IF their product is top quality.

I purchased a 180 gal from glasscages.
They were nice to me.
I paid over the phone then drove to their facility west of Nashville from my home in Birmingham. They had my aquarium ready, loaded it for me and away I went.

Are you happy with the tank, I take it it has not failed?

Would you buy again from them?

i say get over it grab a few tissues and then call them back and buy your tank...

are they actually cheaper than normal oceanics, aqueons and perfectos for the standard sizes? eg. a 90 gallon standard from them is $292 + shipping.

how much is it at the LFS for say an Aqueon 90? I'm from canada where tanks cost an arm and a leg, so I'm not sure how the their prices coimpare to typical LFS's in the USA.

well the one you listed for 292 is a 90 tall...31" tall. I think you mean a 90 long that is 48x18x25 tall. The 90 long is 187 from GC. I called a lfs and there 90 is 350....and a web search pulls up a few 340 prices for that tank....

Also if you look at the 180....the same place on the net that list a price for the Aqueon 90 has the 180 for 1002.56....GC 180 is 550. Now you see the attraction to them lol.

See for me...they have not been a problem to me yet...and the 135rr my bro n law has is running fine fore a year now...and I had the tank in storage before that for probably 3 years brand new.

I worry sometimes when I read about real problems with the tanks like brakage...but I think with a 240 im safe. If I were trying to do a much bigger one I would build a plywood tank....
