And for the record how many of you have heard of a Glasscages tank failing? If it is sctratched and you accept it.......dumb you. I cannot remember any of the tanks falling apart.

There was a vendor on here who posted about a huge tank bought from glasscages failing. They stopped making that size after the customer bought it, and could not even replace it. I think they had to get a smaller one as a replacement. I want to say it was csx something, but I can't recall.

On the other hand, I bought my 240 from them and it was exactly what I expected. My sales person was polite, but not flexible on the price at all. The aquarium is overall a 7/10. There was stray silicon that I had to scrape off, and you can see it in a few places, but it doesn't bother me. If it weren't for glasscages I probably would have not been able to afford an aquarium this large, so that's all that matters to me. :)

i will buy more from them. the problem in my opinion, arises when smaller companys (i have one) have to deal with people. you know which calls are goin to waste time, and which will make money. also i had a great buy from them. but if you want to do buissnes do it. dont spend 3 weeks on the phone or emailing. i actually woke thier driver up to get my tank early, lol

there was also a cali memember a year or so ago who had 2 big 300+ tanks bust but i dont remember whos they where. i do know there was fronts on the ground. i say gc is a tank building and selling company and do good at it.

I got my tank 3 week ago the person i delt with whos not inpolite just strait foward , ipayd with a overnith money order that got there a day late, got a call wen they dint get it, got a call wen they got it and pick it up 30 days later becous of the delivery schedule with starfier glass in front

There's no need to rationalize or justify why it's OK for a business to be rude or unhelpful to a customer or prospective customer.

A LFS by me decided not to purchase several hundred tanks from GC because 1) their price was higher 2) their warranty was 90 days vs. life and 3) their attitude was that they didn't want the business.

If you don't like the service that you received, tell them: "I decided to by my tank from X vendor instead of Glasscages because I did not feel that you respected me as a prospective customer. I have posted my opinion of this on Monsterfishkeepers. Thank you and I hope that you can earn my business next time."

Done.

i wish people would stop posting " I HEARD this and i heard that " . just post from your own experience. classcages makes tanks to order. so they make tanks to your specs, they can make tanks as wide or as tall as you wont.

just post from your own experience

thats what started this post.

they were rude and impolite.

the thing is, it takes 2 seconds to find tons of bad experiences about them eg.:

http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=126515

the scary thing is this:

they get lots of business while apparently being rude etc. because they are one of the few custom tank builders around.

can you imagine how much MORE business they might get if they were polite all the time? not just some of the time?

sad.

I agree with you on this allot of people base their opinion from others experiences.

The flip side of this however is that WOMA (word of mouth advertising) is very powerful and usually the most trusted for of advertisement. After all who would you trust, a company's paid big dollar advertisement to make a buck or someone personal experience.

With the 2 two examples I have seen, all I can say is that All-Glass, Perfecto, and Oceanic are light years ahead of them as far a quality.
